Products Description
Magnetic drive pumps, also known as mag-drive pumps, are specialized industrial pumps that utilize magnets to create a seal between the motor and the impeller, eliminating the need for a traditional shaft seal. XJY magnetic drive pumps can prevent leaks and contamination, making them ideal for handling corrosive or hazardous fluids in various industries. Widely used in the petroleum, chemical, biological, pharmaceutical, and nuclear power industries.
Our DMC series magnetic drive pumps feature a seal-less design and a rationally designed internal circulation system. Wear parts are made of corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, and high-strength pressureless sintered silicon carbide (SSiC), ensuring safer and more reliable operation. High standardization, serialization, and versatility, along with excellent parts interchangeability, shorten product manufacturing cycles, improve equipment maintenance speed, and expand the application range of magnetic drive pumps.

Magnetic Drive Pump Working Principle

The magnetic drive pump utilizes a balanced magnetic field to generate rotational power for the liquid impeller. This differs from traditional centrifugal pumps, which use a direct impeller-motor drive and a magnetic field.
An external magnet bell is located at the end of the pump shaft; the bell is situated outside the rear casing. The pump impeller is connected to a smaller magnet assembly, supported by an internal shaft and bushing assembly. Notably, because all liquid-end components are within the pump's liquid level range, a mechanical seal is unnecessary.
The smaller magnet assembly is located at the center of the magnetic field generated by the external bell housing. Even with a fluid baffle between the two magnet assemblies, their magnetic fields remain aligned. When the pump motor starts, the external bell housing rotates, causing the magnetic field to rotate, which in turn affects the internal impeller magnet. The two magnets rotate synchronously, driving the impeller and thus propelling the fluid through the system.
Applications of Magnetic Drive Pumps
Chemical Processing: Magnetic drive pumps are widely used in chemical processing plants for the safe delivery of corrosive, toxic, and even high-temperature chemicals due to their leak-proof design and resistance to chemical corrosion. Some commonly used chemicals include MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) and TDI (toluene diisocyanate), used in the production of polyurethane.
Pharmaceuticals: In the pharmaceutical industry, mag drive pumps ensure precise and contamination-free fluid delivery, crucial for maintaining product purity and complying with stringent regulatory standards.
Water Treatment: Magnetic drive pumps, due to their reliable leak-proof design and good chemical compatibility, are used in water treatment facilities to transport a variety of chemicals, including acids, alkalis, and disinfectants.
Semiconductor Manufacturing: In semiconductor manufacturing, mag drive pumps are used to efficiently and safely handle highly corrosive and pure chemicals, such as etchants and solvents, ensuring a clean and pollution-free working environment.
Food and Beverage Processing: Magnetic drive pumps are beneficial for food and beverage processing and can be used to transport hygienic, viscous or shear-sensitive fluids while maintaining hygienic conditions and product integrity.
Why Choose XJY Magnetic Drive Pump
The XJY magnetic drive pump, with its innovative design, eliminates the need for a mechanical seal, achieving an airtight seal by eliminating the direct connection between the motor shaft and the impeller assembly. This eliminates potential leakage points and the need for seal replacement, thereby reducing costs and labor throughout the pump's lifespan and ultimately increasing profits.
Magnetic drive pumps are commonly used in various fluid handling applications to transport hazardous chemicals. Leaks in other conventional pumps can expose workers to these hazardous substances, posing a significant threat. This exposure can occur suddenly due to a large leak or gradually due to a failure of seals leading to the release of liquid or vapor.
Magnetic drive pumps offer exceptional corrosion resistance, enabling them to handle the transport of highly corrosive liquids. Their robustness and durability make them suitable for handling highly corrosive environments where other pump designs might be inadequate. Thanks to their outstanding durability, magnetic drive pumps can handle fluids that other pump systems struggle to manage. Therefore, these pumps provide a flexible solution for demanding tasks requiring highly reliable responses.
Choosing the right pump can be a complex task. Numerous factors must be considered to determine the appropriate pump for the intended application, and the introduction of various sealing options (such as seal design, elastomer selection, and sealing components) further complicates the decision-making process. However, mag drive pumps simplify the pump selection process.
XJY offers a variety of designs for different applications, including solids pumping, self-priming pumps, and pumps handling various difficult-to-handle liquids. Our mag drive pumps can adapt to a wide range of viscosities, temperatures, flow rates, and pressures while ensuring zero leakage of the pumped media.
