The difference between self-priming pump and centrifugal pump

Centrifugal pumps work by using the rotation of the impeller to make water produce centrifugal movement. Before the pump is started, the pump casing and suction pipe must be filled with water, and then the motor is started, so that the pump shaft drives the impeller and water to make high-speed rotation. The water produces centrifugal movement and is thrown to the outer edge of the impeller. The channel flows into the pressurized water pipeline of the water pump.

The working principle of the self-priming pump is: fill the pump casing with water before starting the pump (or there is water in the pump casing itself). After starting, the impeller rotates at a high speed to make the water in the impeller channel flow to the volute. At this time, a vacuum is formed at the inlet and the water inlet check door is opened. The air in the suction pipe enters the pump and reaches the outer edge through the impeller channel. The self-priming pump is a self-priming centrifugal pump. It has the advantages of compact structure, convenient operation, stable operation, easy maintenance, high efficiency, long life, and strong self-priming ability. There is no need to install a bottom valve in the pipeline, just make sure that there is a quantitative priming fluid in the pump body before work. Different liquids can use self-priming pumps of different materials.
