If the pump body is not full of water when starting, but full of air, because the air density is much smaller than the density of water, when the impeller rotates at the same speed, the centrifugal force generated by the air will be much smaller than the centrifugal force of water. This will gather in the center of the impeller, so that the center of the impeller cannot form a sufficient vacuum, hinder the suction of water, and affect the formation of the continuous working process of the pump. Therefore, before the centrifugal pump is started, it must first be filled with water and the air in the pump body must be purged to maintain the normal operation of the pump.


Before starting the centrifugal pump, the pump and the water inlet pipe must be filled with water, otherwise the pump cannot work. After the centrifugal pump starts, there is no water, often because the air in the pump is not exhausted and the water is not filled.


Before starting the pump, fill the water tank with water to seal it. After the water pump is started, the water pump enters the water from the vacuum tank. The water level in the water tank causes a certain vacuum to form in the water tank. The water in the pool will enter the water tank through the water inlet pipe under the action of atmospheric pressure, thereby forming a water circulation, so that The pump starts to run normally. This water filling method has the following advantages: small hydraulic loss, high pump station efficiency, low labor intensity of technicians, easy start-up, and is conducive to the realization of automatic control of the pump unit.


There are two main methods of filling water before starting: one is to use an assembled bottom valve to fill the water. The bottom valve is a one-way valve installed at the inlet of the inlet pipe. The disadvantage of this method is that the bottom valve has a large loss of water head, which affects The efficiency of the pump device; the other is to fill the water without a bottom valve. The biggest advantage of this method is energy saving. Compared with the pump station with a bottom valve, it can save 10% to 15% energy.
